The goal of the University of Colorado (CU) 2005 National Solar Decathlon Team is to combine the overall philosophies of the Solar Decathlon with the Team's governing Mission Statement and Four Design Goals. By establishing an interdisciplinary research collaboration, the CU Team seeks to focus on the broad issues of environmental stewardship, renewable energy, and sustainability. The CU 2005 National Solar Decathlon Team has developed a diverse collaborative comprised of students and faculty from a wide range of colleges and departments with environmentally oriented programs. With the common ground of environmentalism among all CU Team members, the following has been established as CU's 2005 National Solar Decathlon revised "Mission Statement":
Integrate natural materials and innovative technologies in an environmentally conscious, publicly accessible, energy efficient, modular home design.
