Michael Brandemuehl is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder (CU) and former Director of the Joint Center for Energy Management (JCEM). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin through the Solar Energy Laboratory; his dissertation involved heat and mass transfer in desiccant cooling systems. His current research activities focus on the design, operation, and analysis of building energy systems, including building energy controls, HVAC systems, desiccant cooling, building system simulation, and indoor air quality. He was previously employed at United Technologies Carrier performing development and analysis of control algorithms for advanced residential and commercial HVAC systems. He is an active member of ASHRAE and is a registered professional engineer.

Architecture Advisor: Julee Herdt, MA, AIA
Julee Herdt is an Assistant Professor in the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado. She performs research and teaching on architectural design and green technology with emphasis on environmental design and construction. Projects published with internationally award-winning design teams in architectural books and journals. Work featured in newspaper, magazines, and on national public radio. She has twenty-eight years experience in architectural design, construction, project management, including work on commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout the U.S., in Europe, and Japan.
